Gurtej S Chahal
Chahal has had extensive
experience in the Human Resources field with some of the largest
conglomerates in the Country. His role within the
organisations has been to ensure the translation of the companies'
goals and strategies, into specific activities. The areas in

He has very extensive experience dealing with
Industrial Relations issues and has been involved in numerous
activities ranging from union matters to Management related
issues. Chahal is well versed with the relevant statutes
governing employment, and has maintained excellent rapport with the
appropriate authorities. He has also been a part of numerous
Domestic Inquiries, and is highly conversant with the requisite
procedures.
He has in-depth knowledge of Business Process
Re-engineering, having acted as the catalyst in ensuring the evolution
of new corporate cultures within large public listed
Companies. The main challenge has been the creation of a
workforce able to work as one team with one vision, despite originating
from diverse work environments. He is one of the few in the
HR industry with such extensive experience in this area.
He is a registered ISO Internal Quality Auditor and
Lead Assessor and has considerable experience implementing Quality
systems for clients/
On the Performance Management front, he is very
familiar with the major systems, particularly MBO based, and has
instituted innovative performance enhancement programmes.
These have enabled managers to focus more sharply on critical business
issues and place due emphasis on people development. Being
able to focus on the people development side of HR has enabled clients
to introduce Development Centres, a particular core expertise of this
versatile Malaysian HR professional.
In the Remuneration Management area, his
involvement has been to monitor packages and practices in comparison to
other large companies in the FMCG market particularly. He
therefore maintains a close rapport with several organisations,
consulting houses and Government Agencies.
A regular speaker at public seminars, Chahal is
often asked to present papers and give talks on HR and Corporate
Development issues. He is a BBA graduate from the UK and has
of course attended numerous training and development programmes in
Malaysia and overseas.
